What we believe

A perfume should be worn close, not announced. Layl is a small perfume house in Gemmayzeh, Beirut. We compose for the evening: oud, amber, woods and the flowers that open after dark. Every name is ours and every perfume is our own composition, in two sizes and nothing louder.

Our path

  1. A room above the stairs

    Gemmayzeh, Beirut

    The house began in one room above a stone stairway in Gemmayzeh: a scale, a shelf of resins, a window onto the street.

  2. The first oud

    Smoke on Gemmayzeh was the first perfume, composed for the evenings on those stairs.

  3. Amber and woods

    Resins and woods followed, each named after a place we return to: Byblos, the Chouf, Koura.

  4. The night flowers

    Jasmine, tuberose and rose, the flowers that open after dark, completed the collection.

  5. Today

    The collection stays small, and every perfume comes in 50 and 100 ml.
